Yay! Jayk: Married (Roswell Pack 2) is now live!

roswelljayk2_medRoswell Pack Book 2 – Jayk: Married

I’m so excited! Book 2 in my Roswell Pack series, Jayk: Married, is now available on Kindle, Nook, Kobo, and Smashwords! Yay! This picks up exactly where book 1 leaves off.  Woo hoo!

Description:

[mf, with mfmm, dub-con, sci-fi-ish, capture, bondage, 31k words]

It’s 1974. Penn State grad student Katherine Fornier came to Yellowstone to study the supervolcano and ended up in the arms of handsome and mysterious Jackson Thomas. She’s not sure what the Thomas family is, but they aren’t normal humans. If their cobalt blue eyes weren’t a clue, the strange “feral” state they can shift into sure is.

She’s still not entirely sure she believes their story about the Roswell crash, or their extra-terrestrial origins, though.

One thing’s for certain—Jackson Thomas has claimed Katherine as his mate. While she doesn’t know what part two of the three-part process entails, he’s encouraged her to fight with her body while letting him into her mind.

Only problem is, she’s not so sure she wants to keep fighting him. Or his three sexy brothers.

Where’ve I been?

This has been a long, crazy winter and spring so far. That pesky real-life stuff (The Man, the brood, etc) has gotten in the way of my “fun” writing. Gah! But I’m almost ready to post Jayk: Married to various bookstores. Won’t be long after that until I get Jayk: Bred posted.

When I was asked what I wanted for Mother’s Day, I said three weeks alone with my laptop and an endless supply of chocolate and coffee to get all these projects finished and published. (I hope that doesn’t make me a horrible mother, but it’s impossible to write hot dub-con alien sexehness when there are kids and animals wanting to be fed and walked/bathed/clean clothes.) Needless to say, I haven’t been very active on Facebook or Twitter lately, either.

I really need to do a better job updating my blog. I see other writers doing what looks like a bazillion hours of work every day and feel like a loser for not managing a single dang blog post more often.

And I got my first “this is just rape” review for Jayk: Mated. Yay! A couple of writer friends of mine who’ve been doing this professionally far longer than I have (in fiction) told me that means I’m “officially” a “professional.” Wahooz, go me. 🙂 I knew after talking to a bunch of writer friends that I’d have to self-publish, because the kind of dark and dub-con erotica I really wanted to write isn’t the kind of stuff publishers usually like to…publish. I mean, yes, the woman does eventually say yes, and there are legit reasons for the whys (alien dudes and mating rituals, hellooo), but it is kind of over the top of the norm. But others have bought Jayk: Mated and seem to enjoy it, so cool. I’m glad there are other people out there with my literary…tastes. (Haha!) Yes, heroines and heroes who “do it” with all consent and etc are fun, but sometimes I just want that…bite, ya know? And I’ve read other books out there that tell me I’m not the only one. So writing this stuff seemed a natural fit for self-pubbing.

Okay, enough time wasted. Back to the salt mines, and thanks for reading!

Description:

[mf, with mfmm, dub-con, sci-fi-ish, capture, 31k words]

It’s 1974, and Katherine Fornier is a determined Penn State grad student who lands a fellowship working with a scientist in Yellowstone and studying the supervolcano. She’s determined to make history unraveling the workings of the geothermal systems and how they can be used for clean energy. The last thing she wants or needs is a man in her life. Not until she’s earned her doctorate and made a name for herself.

Jackson Thomas is the eldest of four sons. Something about that brother in particular, and his whole family in general, is…different. And not just their gorgeous cobalt blue eyes, either. But Katherine is originally from New York City. She figures the oddities are just cultural differences between her and the Montana family. Although Jackson is, admittedly, quite the hunky catch.

What Katherine doesn’t realize is that Jackson and his family are more than she understands. Their history originates farther away than she can possibly imagine.

And Jackson Thomas wants Katherine as his mate.

Excerpt:

The brothers, led by Jackson, entered the bedroom a few minutes later. Katherine wanted to claw Jackson’s eyes out especially, except that her body remembered how good being with him felt.

New Covers! Jayk’s books

Woohoo! I have covers for the first three books in my Roswell Pack series. There are four brothers, Jayk, Daryk, Garyk, and Kyryk. They go by Jackson (the eldest) then Derrik, Dragan, and Kota (the youngest). And actually most of the action in Jayk’s books takes place in and around their home in Yellowstone.

Which, I know sounds weird when they’re called the Roswell Pack, but…you’ll find out why. It’s not a shifter series, really. I’ll give you a hint: if you blend the Trinity nuclear test, with the Roswell crash, and the Hebgen Lake quake…you won’t probably come up with the right answer at first, but you’ll see where those things fit into this saga once you read them.

Jackson (Jayk, pronounced Jay-ik) and Katherine are the first couple. Each brother will have at least three books, and then other members of their “pack” will get their own stories.

NaNoWriMo, anyone?

Anyone else doing NaNo this year? I was going to, but the day job won’t make it possible. Not if I want to have…you know…a real life. The Man said something something, blah blah, feeding the kids, blah blah, housework, blah blah holidays coming. Doesn’t the real world understand all I want to do is write? Ugh. LOL

So instead of stressing myself to write like a maniac, I’m going to focus on edits on current projects and getting them posted on Amazon. I thought about using a publisher, but honestly? I decided it’s better to just put it out there and see what happens. It’s all shorter stuff anyway, and dark. I know a lot of publishers like to tone darker romance and erotica down so I’m going to take the advice of my friends and DIY the process. Who knows? Maybe I’ll decide it’s too much work.

So how do you fit NaNo in with your “normal” life? (I know, normal, that’s an insult. I’m sorry. LOL Writers are seldom “normal.”)
